Esiso to APC: Don’t politicise honour given to MKO, berates Oshiomhole for comment on Delta

It is wrong for anyone to seek to politicise the national honour award given to the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, believed to have been by Chief MKO Abiola, because it is the people of Nigeria that made Abiola, Delta state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Kingsley Esiso has said.
Esiso, a barrister-at-law, spoke in Asaba while fielding question from journalists in his office.
He said: “I participated actively in the processes of June 12. For me, I am for the honour given to Chief MKO Abiola . Abiola deserves to be honoured, because I believe that he won that election. And as a democrat, I did not support the annulment of that election.
“What I found funny is a situation where some members of All Progressive Congress (APC) , who were against Chief Abiola yesterday, who supported the annulment of June 12 election yesterday are today pretending to be the greatest supporters of Abiola, trying to take glory for what they did not do. My take is that the issue of honouring Abiola should not be politicized; no political party should try to take advantage and pretend as if they made Abiola. The people of Nigeria made Abiola.”
On the comment by the former governor of Edo State, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, now aspirant to contest the chairmanship position of the APC, who threatened that under his chairmanship, Delta state and Rivers state shall become APC states, Esiso who dismissed the threat with a wave of the hand, derided Oshiomhole, who he said enjoys talking and trying to paint himself as a saint said: “I don’t want to comment on him. We are waiting for him to come and project his threat .
He continued: :But somebody must tell him that Delta is a PDP state. We are going to vote for our party and we are going to defend our votes. You can be rest assured that PDP will win Delta State.”
